Hair loss solutions which aren’t hard on the pocket

People actively look for hair loss solutions, especially with the arrival of the monsoon season. It is better to try natural solutions rather than spending a bomb on expensive chemical products that often do not work. Our hair strands are formed of the protein keratin, which the hair follicles produce. As new hair cells get formed in the hair follicles, old cells get pushed outwards through skin surface. Hair as we see them is simply dead keratin cells strung together. On average, adults lose about 100 hair strands daily. More than that can be a cause of alarm. Trying some natural remedies can prove to be advantageous.

  • Onion Juice: Regarded as the oldest and most effective remedy, onion juice gains its popularity from its high sulfur content, which boosts the production of collagen and leads to hair re-growth. The strong smell disappears after a single rinse, and is no reason to not try this effective treatment. Onion juice can be substituted by potato juice. Just let the juice sit for ten to fifteen minutes on the scalp, and watch your hair unfold beautifully after a rinse.
  • Coconut Milk: This is another of the most effective remedies for quick hair growth. Rich in essential fats, potassium and iron, coconut milk when extracted from a fresh coconut and mixed with lemon juice and lavender essential oil promotes hair growth and leads to soft, shiny hair.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar: This is a treatment that maintains pH balance and gently cleans the scalp, hence increasing the growth rate of hair. It is to be prepared as a diluted solution with water and used as a rinse after every hair wash. Apart from boosting growth, it also gives a healthy shine to the hair.
  • Egg Mask: This is another popular remedy that is used for natural and quick hair growth. Egg oil contains a large amount of proteins that assist in the eruption of new hair strands. Eggs are also rich sources of zinc, sulfur, selenium, iron, iodine and phosphorus. When olive oil is added to egg white and honey, it serves as a very effective egg mask. Lavender or grape seed oil can also be used instead of olive oil for similar results.
  • Green Tea: Here is the perfect solution for the tea bags that are thrown into the trash after every use. Being a rich source of antioxidants, green tea prevents hair loss and accelerates hair growth. Applying warm green tea, prepared from used bags, over the scalp and washing off after an hour leaves hair gorgeous and healthy.
  • Indian Gooseberry: This is another magical remedy for hair loss that contains a host of essential nutrients. It has high amounts of Vitamin C that is known to counter hair loss. Mixing a couple of tablespoons of the juice or powder of Indian Gooseberry with two tablespoons of lime juice is a great remedy for correcting hair color and preventing hair fall.
