Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov has been re-elected Chairman of the supervisory board of state-controlled diamond miner ALROSA. Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Yegor Borisov was elected First Deputy Chairman, while Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Alexander Galushka remains as Deputy Chairman.
The supervisory board exercises general control over the company’s operations, its sustainable development, strategy, control over compliance with corporate governance principles including the protection of the interests of all shareholders, employees and partners, as well as timely and full disclosure of information and business transparency.
The new supervisory board was elected by ALROSA shareholders on June 30 last and has 15 members, four of whom are independent members.
Supervisory board committees are formed with new chairpersons. The strategic planning committee chairman is ALROSA President Sergey Ivanov. Maria Gordon heads the audit committee, while Valentina Lemesheva the human resources and remunerations committee.
