ALROSA reported that it sold 66 larges-size rough diamonds, each weighing over 10.8 carats, for a total of 1,084 carats at the international auction in its Eurasian Diamond Centre at Vladivostok for $9 million.
The largest diamond, a 40.47-carat stone, sold for over $1 million at the auction, which took place from October 16 to 27.
“Our branch in Vladivostok was opened in the fall of 2016, and today we can review the results of the first year of its work. In the period from September 2016 to October 2017, we held four auctions for special-size rough diamonds at the Far Eastern platform and sold a total of 4,708 carats for $47 million. It is a good result,” said ALROSA Vice President Yury Okoyomov.
In addition to special-size rough diamonds, the ALROSA branch in Vladivostok sells regular assortments of gem-quality rough diamonds under 10.8 carats, industrial rough diamonds, and polished diamonds as well.
